The recent suicide surge in America has led to the rise of the It Gets Better Campaign.

While creating many, many teachable moments, this has been particularly harrowing coming just before October, which is is also the GLBT History Month in the U.S.

Some important dates are:

October 11 - National Coming Out Day
October 12 - 11^th anniversary of Matthew Shepard's death
October 18-22 - Ally Week
